Martin Black, Intro to Martin’s Precision Program

Martin Black’s understanding of the horse and knowledge of how to achieve confident performance with minimum stress are seldom matched. His Precision Horsemanship Program starts with learning how to ask your horse to influence only one foot. When you start out you might find that your horse is likely to take more than one step and also move the other end of his body. You will learn that this is where you start to develop your feel. With Martin’s guidance you will learn to be aware of what your horse is preparing to do, and adjust accordingly. You will learn to find a balance between too much, or not enough, leg or rein.
This clinic includes cow horse confidence, low impact stockman ship, and moving cows through obstacle courses. Learn key elements to rope handling, safety and knot tying. We well take to the trails to utilized nature to find more ways to develop precision.
Martin will explain the importance of staying out of your horse’s way, and teach a variety of maneuvers to create more confidence in speed control, simple or flying lead changes and stopping.
You will learn how to work with cows and learn how your horse’s body position influences them. Explore the concepts of “Flight Zone” and “Balance Point”, two important components require to move and direct cattle.
The object of Martin’s Precision Horsemanship Program is to develop relaxed, willing horses that seek out the right answers. You will learn to acknowledge your horse’s subtle responses to your own questions and cues.
